SUPPORTING GOSPEL MINISTRY IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA REGION

A long-term partnership with the Lebanese Society for Educational and Social Development in Beirut, Lebanon.

God is at work in the MENA region. The Church is growing. The Gospel is spreading.

Men and women from all over this part of the world are being called to lead the church in fulfilling its mission to make disciples of Jesus.

Many of them prepare and train for this ministry at Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) in Beirut, Lebanon. Then, they go back to their home countries, where they face many challenges. Some of these challenges include severe poverty, war & conflict, climate-related issues, and persecution for their faith.

These challenges also present opportunities for followers of Jesus to be His hands and feet, showing the good news of Christ in action, while simultaneously sharing the good news of Christ in word.

Immanuel is committed to supporting these courageous men and women as they study at ABTS and as they go home and put what they’ve learned into action.

STEP is a commitment to PRAY and PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT to a strategic global mission partner, through CBM (Canadian Baptist Ministries). Canadian Baptist Ministries oversees STEP, providing accountability and the necessary link between our church and our partners on the ground.

Each year, Immanuel fundraises and sends $10,000 to our partner.

  • $5000 / year for bursaries to help cover the tuition costs for students at ABTS.

  • $5000 / year for ‘seed money’ to fund gospel-mission projects of ABTS alumni back in their home countries in the Middle East / North Africa.

Our initial 3-year STEP commitment to Lebanon stretched from 2020-2022. In 2023, we renewed our commitment to our STEP partnership for another 3 years (2023-2025).
